Be sure to read carefully and find out everything you need to know about your vendor's policies. Check to see if there are taxes, or other additional shipping charges that may be applied. Be aware of your vendors return policies, will they pay or are you held responsible for shipping fees? Can your foam mattress be delivered direct or to a rural address? What is the length of time of delivery? Make sure to use a vendor who does not charge your credit card until the product is actually shipped.

The Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), also applies to purchases made online. These laws assume the foam mattress vendor will ship the item within 30 days unless stated otherwise. If item can not be shipped within 30 days then the vendor must inform you of delay and provide you with a revised shipping date. On even that the order can not be filled on time then the vendor can cancel the order but must give you a prompt refund. If you decide to cancel the order due to delays then the vendor still must provide you with a prompt refund.

Print out receipts and keep records of all transactions. Keep a copy of your purchase order and confirmation numbers.
