Slider replacement
windows
The different types of window operating mechanisms for replacement windows
With double-sliding windows, both sashes slide horizontally. With a
single-sliding window, only one sash slides. Opening for ventilation may
vary from a small opening to one-half the total glass area. Screens may
be placed either the exterior or interior of the window. Horizontally
sliding windows usually have a greater amount of air leakage than
projecting or hinged windows.
